I would like to nominate Craig Wensley for membership in Friends of Triumph.
Craig raced a TR3, Formula Ford, and Cortina in the sixties and early
seventies at Upper Marlboro, Cumberland, Lime Rock, Thompson, Summit Point,
etc. etc. He crewed for Group 44 and for some other drivers. He also did
Tech inspections during that era. After a hiatus of some 25 or 30 years, he
is back into the Triumph fray with a Hot Street TR6.
Craig encouraged (prodded?) me into working on the White TR3 again and
helped me get it back together in time to take it to VIR last weekend for
Track Touring. Then rode down with me and worked on the car at VIR chasing
an elusive poor running problem.
Craig helps and encourages all the TR owners in the central Maryland area
and keeps us active with our cars.
I believe Craig and his TR6 could benefit from the collective knowledge of
FoT. I believe the group could benefit from Craigs knowledge of How They
Did It in The Old Days. We might convince him to entertain us with some
stories about Group 44 and other teams from that era.
For these reasons I would like to see Craig get on the FoT list. Can I have
a second?
