Tom,

It's a good ole' Triumph Herald 1147cc engine of late 1963 vintage.
Basically the same as the early Spitfire engine except for the
camshaft/distributor weights/springs and possibly valve springs and valve
diameter.
Of course it may have been stripped and rebuilt to Spitfire specification by
a previous owner, or it may not?
