I have written the following for the CVAR newsletter and as you can see, we
plan on Kas attending. CVAR has asked me to field any questions about guest
racecars that do not meet CVAR 19722 SCCA rules standard. These will be
considered on a case by case basis and I will do my best to get everything
in.

The Shoot Out at the OK Corral.

"The Friends of Triumph (FoT) celebrates its 10th year Anniversary with a
focus event, the CVAR Annual Spring Vintage Races at Hallett Motor Racing
Circuit, March 30 - April 2, 2006. The central location provided by Hallett
insures participation by Triumph racers from all over the country and an East
versus West showdown is in the works. Thus, the event has been dubbed the
Shoot Out at the OK Corral by the FoT, an informal association of racing
enthusiasts who carry on Triumph's tradition of motorsport competition."

Kas Kastner, the well known and respected Triumph Competition Team Manager
will attend and present his annual Kastner Cup award. Kas was the man behind
Triumph's USA racing programs and he took teams to Lemans and Sebring, and his
career eventually led to his leadership of the Nissan GTP Team. As part of his
Triumph Competition Manager role, Kas developed parts and contingency programs
for SCCA racers including the world renowned Group 44 racing team. They raced
the cars but he developed the parts!.For those of us still racing Triumphs
today his legendary Competition Prep Manuals for all the Triumph models.are
our roadmaps to vintage preparation. Kas will spend the weekend at the track
and be a guest speaker at both the Friday evening FoT reception and the CVAR
Saturday night dinner hosted by the Stephens family.

In an effort to make the Shootout more appealing to those that will make a
cross country tow, CVAR and the facility are adding an extra practice day to
our normal 3 day schedule. The Stephens family will host the Thursday Test and
Tune day at $100.00 per entry and provide full services. CVAR will collect for
the additional day as part of the normal registration. We invite racers from
all marques to join us at the Shoot Out and take advantage of the generous
track time and challenging race course at Hallet. CVAR Rules and regulations
will apply. In general cars must meet the 1972 SCCA specification. Exceptions
for guest racecars will be considered on a case by case basis.
