I don't have all of the details, but years ago the Canadians used to have an
open class for home made specials, but you could only spend (and had to
document) so many dollars total. The sum $2,000 comes to mind, but this was in
the
'glory days'. iT MAY EVEN HAVE BEEN $1,000. As the result, there are still
lots of really interesting Canadian Specials out there, that were built and
raced for relatively few dollars. Some went FAST.
When the FOT was at MOSPORT a few years back there was half a dozen of them
running...and they still go FAST.
