YES!  That  is exactly what I was thinking only with a cab from an older 
UK  Lorrie.  Maybe a Bedford that is period approximate for the TR.  It  
makes more sense to me than a dedicated race car trailer and tow  rig.

Maybe the original of this still exists? Mike Anthony's Standard Vanguard  
Racing Car Transporter. Kenna Models built a replica of same; there's one on  
eBay right now (item # 190019421543). That would be cool.
 
Oh, and there's also an ex-RAF Vanguard pickup on eBay UK right now:  item # 
150023224656).
