I'm about to head back from Maui. I'm getting withdrawal symptoms. I
enjoy myself here.

Four months on the road going to race tracks. I 'm starting to think
I might be nuts. But one thing I could use some help with is
traveling music. I've put a post on my blog asking for
recommendations of the best road music. I need a huge playlist. Any
and all comments and suggestions welcome. The easiest way is to leave
a comment on the blog. http://www.hawaiiv.com/allalum/?p=195

One other thing. I've sort of figured out what goes wrong with the
ATC 2000 camera from Oregon Scientific. I can't recommend this camera
to anyone because the company is terrible at customer service, but
120 bucks for self contained video camera the size and weight of a
bratwurst is hard to pass up for anyone that would like to have in-
car video. It turns out that the SD card that stores the video
vibrates in the holder and loses connection, which makes the camera
crash and lose the current recording. Slicing a foam earplug
diagonally and pressing it into the slot above the card holds it in
place against vibration.

You can see a compressed version of the video at http://
www.ponohouse.com/ponoblog/?p=249. the real video is pretty high
resolution: 640 X 480 and 30 frames per second. It actually does a
decent job. too bad the company treats customers so badly.

I'm looking forward to seeing lots of you folks on the road. The All
Aluminum Bar is always open to FOTers. We're also bringing a video
projector to do movie nights. I'm modifying one of the awnings so it
can do double duty holding a big screen. We'll collect videos from
anyone that gets one, do a quick merge and edit, show on track video
followed by some kind of relevant hollywood release. I know I can
watch Grand Prix, Le Mans or Faster every night, but Diane might want
something more theatrical. Perhaps Wild Hogs?
