COLFAX AVENUE CRUISE 2007
The Colfax Avenue Cruise will be held September 22, 2007. This is an
event that Old Car Council of Colorado has had in the planning stage for
two years. Sponsorship is in place and here is what is planned.
The cruise will have three sites set up on Colfax Avenue. The sites are
the Super K-Mart at Colfax Aveny
ue and Chambers Road, East High School, and the Festival Center at Colfax
Avenue and Irving Street in west Denver. Each site will have a car
display by OCCC member cars, music, food vendors, car club displays, and
other car-related displays by vendors. The sites will operate from 4 pm
to 8 pm. The car club members working at the sites will help with site
set-up, site operation, and site clean up. The Colorado Chapter of POCI
will be teamed with the Colorado Cobra Club and the Packard Club to
operate the site at East High School. The Sabers Club and the AMC Club
will anchor the Aurora site and the Denver Roadster Club and the
ColoRODans will man the site in west Denver.
The promotion of the Colfax Avenue Cruise will be by radio station
KOOL105. The radio station will also help with music at each of the
sites. The charity to benefit from the event is D.A.R.E.. D.A.R.E
officers will be present at each site and have a display vehicle and
give-aways for kids. The main sponsors of the event are the network of
Colorado Select Car Care Centers and NAPA Auto Parts. The money from the
sponsors will be used to finance operation of the sites (permits,
security, rental of equipment), fund a donation to D.A.R.E., and the fund
the operation of OCCC. The car clubs operating the sites will profit
from the sale of tee shirt s and fees from the vendors at the sites.
The Colfax Avenue Cruise is going to be great and you will want to get in
on the ground floor of this annual event. This event needs your support.
We need to have a variety of cars on display at the sites on Saturday,
September 22.
The Colfax Avenue Cruse an event that is important to the future of the
old car hobby. It is important that this event be a success so that we
strengthening the financial position of the Old Car Council of Colorado.
