Now...how about some photos that show cavitation of the rotor of the water
pump.

As you can see, the wheel is in good condition but on the low pressure side
of the wings there are typical signs of cavitation.

With the parts on the race car, exact measurements are difficult to get at
the moment. I am running the second generation harmonic balancer kit from
Ken Gillanders. I believe he gets them from the UK. Ken, do you know what
the sizes of those pulleys are?



If you expect cavitation, it would be easy to hook up a pressure gauge as I
described below. The purpose built water pressure gauge died, so I replaced
it with an oil pressure gauge I had laying about, it works fine. Pressure is
pressure... On your next race out you can watch the gauge to see if there is
any drop at high revs. Mine does not.
