My 4 forced water out on very long high speed straights where you go over
5500 rpm for about 30-40 sec.
For this reason I now install a different water pump that is supplied by
Moss and has 6 flaps with a nicer shape than the stock pump.
I believe that this will cure the high speed problem.

Maybe a similar problem with your engine?

One thing that has bit several people (not generally spits) is if you
run an old radiator and the neck of the radiator is deeper than the
modern ones.  TR-3 radiators can have this issue.  You basically hold
NO pressure.

I assume the overflow is connected to the radiator?
