I've been through it.

First of all, the rocket pedistals from BFE are really cool. They do,
however need to modified to avoid hitting the ARP head stud nuts.
This is accomplished with a die-grinder and you want to take a little
off at a time so that you keep the thing strong. Be sure to clean off
all metal shavings before trying it on your cyl-head. You don't want
to get metal flakes in the oil.
Joe's rocker arm spacers are cool too but not made for Ken's rocker
arm pedistals. I sanded mine down to shave off enough material to
make them fit. I think I sanded them lop-sided and then got them
"square" and wound up taking a little too much off. The really thin
ones in the kit don't seem to work for me so I found some 5/8 ID thin
aluminum washers that did the job. .010 is the min clearance but more
is okay. I believe it was mentioned that you want to make sure there
is ample clearance hot (.010)

Joe,

I have what I believe to be a set of your TR3/4 Nylatron Rocker Arm
Spacers (sourced from Moss). Once I have the rocker gear assembled, as
I slide it on the pedestal bolts it is pretty tough to get the pedestals
to line up with the bolts. I have to compress the assembly from the
front of the car to get the pedestal holes to line up with the bolts.
Then I have to push down pretty good to get the whole assembly to set
down onto the head. As you can imagine, once I have done this, the
rocker arms themselves are very difficult to rotate. So I have a couple
of questions before I torque things down and set the valve lash:
1. Are these to be installed with a side clearance between the
spacer and the rocker arm? What is the spec?
2. Do they install tight and wear in?
3. Were they meant to be a cut to fit application?
4. What are the correct measurements for the various spacers?
5. What is the best way to shave a few thousands off this material?
Flat surface and 600 cloth?

I am using a set of the special rocker arm pedestals that support the
ends of the rocker shaft sourced from British Frame and Engine. I have
not put the calipers to the pedestals yet, maybe they are slightly
thicker than stock?

Thanks,

Greg
