IMO, yes, it's possible providing you find a lightweight trailer & racer &
you keep an eye on the temp gauge. If you plan to do this on a regular
basis, I would also suggest electric brakes on the trailer and a matching
automatic controller on the GT6.

FWIW, I once towed a TR3A on a single axle boat trailer some 2500 miles,
through the Rockies & plains states, with a car only slightly heavier and
more powerful than a GT6 (2.8L V6, 2500 lbs curb weight). Also had the
family and a full load of luggage along. Had no problems at all, even at
70+ mph, except for burning lots of fuel (nearly 3 times more than normal
driving), and of course slowing down on upgrades. Fortunately the CHP that
stopped me let me go with a warning on the speed (cars with trailers are
limited to 55 mph in CA).

Don't forget that you will have to have at least 10-12% of the gross weight
of the trailer transferred to the car's suspension (which will actually be
more like 16% at the rear wheels, with an open hitch). Might need some
beefier springs or air shocks. Even though they aren't normally used for
such a light trailer, a load-leveling hitch might be an option (to move some
of the transferred weight onto the front wheels of the car).
