Back in the day, I towed a trailer behind my TR250 from Dallas to
Seattle. The trailer was small, maybe 6x4x4 and maybe 1000 to 1500
lbs. Some of those passes in Colorado were 2nd gear all the way. The
transmission went out 4 months later and rear end went out after that.
Have you noticed we get into these towing discussions every winter? I'm
looking at a Touareg Diesel. It's a compromise - a bit small for towing
but more practical around town than a 3/4 ton diesel pickup.
