I use them on tires very successful.

But if you measure your tire temperature after youve driven through the
paddock a probe type sensor which you push into the surface for a few
millimeters is better at that point because the surface is cooling down fast
while deeper under the surface the heat remains longer.

So if you measure in the paddock add a few degree F.

measure the tape and you'll get the correct temperature.

But be careful what you try to shoot with it.  I have one, and while it
works well enough on the radiator tanks, it gives readings that are all over
the place from the thermostat housing or radiator core.
