Unfortunately that is an explanation of SAE markings, and the original bolts
were not SAE spec.

FWIW, I just got an email from Dan Jones at Tran-X, saying to use the
factory torque for the ring gear bolts. According to the TR2/3 workshop
manual, that was 35-40 ft-lb (for the later gears with the 3/8" bolts). He
also included a drawing that says to use Loctite and torque the "test bolts"
(which I assume are the ones holding the carrier together) to 30-35 ft-lb.

Curiously enough, the only difference between the "light weight" and "fully
interlevered" settings appears to be the order of assembly of the clutch
plates. I thought it was a component change.
