Friends: Don't know if any of you had heard this. I just had a chance to read
the AP posting my son sent me. Knowing I come from that area he knew I would
be interested. The reporter that filed the article must not be from the area
or he would have known and mentioned the very rich racing past of neighboring
Paterson, N.J., home of Hincliffe Stadium. Patterson had it's own, now
historic Gasoline Alley which was home to many champ car drivers of the
'50's...Bill Shindler, Dutch Shaffer, Phil Walters (AKA Ted Tappet), and of
course, my dad.
Question this raises in my mind. If Austin has the 2012 race; and N.J. has the
race in 2013 or 2014 which will be called the America Grand Prix, what is
going to happen to the Austin race when the N.J. race starts?
All random morning thoughts.
