Your description does not help me much, I need a photo. I built forged one
piece axles in the early 1970's that were one piece with the hub and the axle
all one forged part made of very expensive vascojet 8000 special steel.
Mueler was given the specs and forging dies to carry on that work when I left
Triumph. We used a Forklift U-joint for the mating parts and it was very very
good and strong. This number may be the one, but it also may be for the
engine dyno cardian shaft (which was lot bigger). I only have this Spicer
part number so cannot tell. Anyway a clue is the forlift info. If all else
fails look there. My spicer number is 5-178X .That is for a U-joint kit.
