We would like to thank everyone who posted regarding our head issue,
overheating problem, rear axle questions, etc. We're year one into what
we hope will be a long adventure in Triumph racing. We've been to
Elkhart Lake for a few years now, caught the bug putting around the
track in a TR6 and the GT6, and have decided to campaign the GT6. We
have no illusions (anymore) that building a race car will be easy or
cheap.
Your advice has been invaluable. We have decided to run the engine as
is for the first year if we can get the body back on the frame within
the next couple of months. We have another engine on the shop floor
that we will rebuild using your advice.
Next rebuild will include pop-up pistons, a healthier cam and webers.
This year, if we make it, look for us at the back of the pack sorting
out the suspension/handling.
Thanks again,
Dave and Alex
