Thread-topic: [Fot] Oil temp
We run 65 @ idle & 95 at speed, before oil temp rises to 200, pressure is 100.

My GT6's also run in the range of 200 to 240. I have been told that is even to
high but don't know how get them much lower than that.
Either way, I am always concerned more with oil pressure. Keep an eye on that
as often as you can take a peek at it. I think about 65 is good. An oil
pressure warning light can help immensely and can save a problem from turning
into a big expensive problem. If the light goes on and you don't have at least
35 while cornering that's not good. If it drops below that in a strait line
shut it down promptly and figure out why.
Good luck have fun!

So I don't have a good engineering answer for- what is to low a temp- don't
think it is peculiar to a gt6- but generally try to maintain 200-240 F by
covering part of the cooler with tape.
Toyos- I've had best success when they are about 35-36 psi hot. They pick up
about 4-5 psi from cold. The hot emp is consistent with Toyo recommendations

Our GT6 is ready for it's first track day. We've added an octopus oil system,
3 qt accusump ,a larger scirocco rad with a 16 lb cap and a oil cooler. I've
read we need to maintain a minimum oil temp so we don't damage the motor. What
should the minimum temp be for racing? Also what tire pressures do u run with
Toyo r888's?

Thanks
Dave and Alex
