I recommend nitrate hardening of the distributor gear.

I=E2=80=99ve done this 3 years ago and I have NO wear on the gear, which =
can save you a good cam.

This comes from Ken Knight. The effort here is have a continued supply =
of the Tilden cam designed by Larry Young. Some of us have already =
purchased one as a back up.

There is also an adjustable cam gear that can also be purchased from =
Ken.

Additionally, Ken has done a run of alloy distributor pedestals for the =
wet sleeve engine.

I have made a small run of the Tilden 298Dx racing cam.  (Thank you =
Larry Young at Tilden for making the master available!)  These cams are =
ground on new cores.

Specs:  Cam Lift .376/Lift at valve .556 gross, .537 net/lobe separation =
108 degrees, made to run with stock TR lifters.  The price is $595.00 =
plus shipping/insurance (about $27.00 to most US addresses).  I have two =
left ready to ship and more will be produced.  I can pdf a full spec =
sheet.

Adjustable Cam Gear:  Available and can ship with cam.  This gear has =
been lightened 15% over stock weight for racing and comes with ARP cam =
bolts ready to safety wire.  $220.00

Aluminum Distributor Pedestals:  Still available and they save 2.5 =
pounds, CNC made in USA.  Requires drive gear for tach to be removed, =
and I will do this as part of purchase.  I have a stock of drive gears =
ready to go with pedestal and you send your old drive gear back or I =
