Well in spite of a dismal turnout for our SCCA Vintage race, Mike Jackson
hasn't forgotten how to flog the old 3, he picked up a couple P-1s yesterday,
and in the last race TRs swept the field (of 5 cars remaining), with a 1/2/3,
Mike, Phil H. in his solid-axle 4, and Tim S. in a very tidy 1147 Spit.For the
last race, much to his surprise, Phil found himself on pole & Mike was gridded
#4.Mike got the 3 up alongside Phil @ the green, and they diced for the first
few laps, and then Mike got a bit of a lead, as Phil no doubt was rethinking
his tire strategy. The battle for 3rd was great, Tim & a shoe that Mike slipped
into the Sandy Beach for the weekend. Those 2 went back & forth the entire race,
the Beach had a nearly 2 second lead on the white flag lap but Tim somehow
managed a last-corner move on the hun-car and got the 1/2/3.
The best times for all were well within a second, good racing!

Sadly there are very strong rumors that the track will soon be sold for
re-development in the foreseeable future...
