Just passing on a question to the list from a friend, any ideas or opinions?

I finally obtained the right allen bolts for the spin-on adapter. I plan to
install it today.

Out of curiosity, do you know the direction of the oil flow in the filter? It
is my understanding that modern spin-ons are designed
for the flow to be "outside to inside". If the flow direction is reversed to
"inside to outside", then the filter will supposedly collapse.
Also, if the direction is reversed, then it seems that the anti-siphon and
bypass valves in the spin-on filter would probably not
work.

Some of the early MGTDs with a canister had the oil flowing "inside to
outside". With later models the flow was changed to the
current convention. Do you know the direction for the BN1 Healey? I don't see
anything in the manual.
