This could have been done by past frame repair where certain strategic parts
were replaced but strict alignment of the frame was not carried out before
the rewelding. But if this were the case other body parts would have been
misaligned and adjusted accordingly too. Any indication of other panels
being different from one side to the other?
That seems like a rather large difference for the factory to just pass over,
IMO.
The cross section measurements should tell you a lot.
