Thanks to all for the valuable info regarding postage costsl from the US
to Oz, the seller (Ebay sale) had never had an International sale and
had previously never used USPS.
Subsequently we've settled on Air freight to Oz using USPS at $40.00, a
lot better than the all singing and dancing UPS at $139.00
A check of this cost revealed that it was valid, with insurance,
tracking etc, etc (he wasn't an Ebay scammer after all) apparently UPS
is quite good for the US but obviously not competitive against US postal
service for international postage.
