Hi Jerry, Those voltage regulators are used in later MGBs and TRs and are
usually mounted on the back of one of the larger instruments. 
I have used mid year range MGB fuel gauges (without any voltage regulator)
in BJ8s and they work very well with the original sender. Because they use a
bi-metalic strip system rather than the electro magnet they don't suffer
from the wibbly wobblies that the Healey ones do and they look almost
identical although the needle is thicker; something that can be improved
with judicious use of a magic marker!!!

I am working on a late BJ8 (1967).  MOMA just called about the fuel gauge.
I
had sent it to her because it was not working.  She said it was an odd gauge
that she does not see very often.  The range is 20 -200 ohms and the code is
BF .  The other Healeys have a SG gauge.   Margaret said that the BFs
require
a voltage regulator of some type.  The sending unit is also different.

So:   Are there others of these gauges out there?
If so, what sending unit did you use?
What type of voltage regulator is used?  (Margaret said it is about 1 inch
by
1/2 inch but she never sees this on Healeys)
