[Healeys] Door striker

Service parts book lists a packing and a tapped plate behind the striker
plate. Do they go on the backside of the post, or does the packing plate go
behind the striker plate. I found the tapped plate screwed to my old
striker, but no packing plate... Can I get by without it?
