Simon,

Given the effort to remove the gearbox it is a good idea to change the clutc=
h as a maintenance item rather than waiting for a failure. Michael=E2=80=99s=
 advise is good - resurface the flywheel. Check for any oil leaks from eithe=
r the transmission or engine that could foul the clutch. These should be add=
ressed. Since you are on the other side of the pond I suggest purchasing a c=
lutch kit from AH Spares along with their inexpensive alignment tool.=20
