Richard, the one I remember was also the red Emmons 23. It was powered by
an injected Olds or Buick and apart from the sharp looking nose had a rigid
torneau with 2 openings cut into it. Like you, I thought the car awesome
and ultimately built one similar in the mid 70's. It was in fact the first
rod I built totally from scratch. Have to dig through my archives to find
the article but if memory serves its around Oct, Nov, Dec, 63.
