I was in L.A in May 1981 purchasing Ford & Flathead parts & stuff for my
'35 Roadster & met up with a very helpfull Bill Honda [is he still
around?], of California Metal Shaping. Inside that amazing place were some
very serious dollar machines in various stages of restoration..amongst them
a 300SL gull wing Coupe..my first close up!.
I heard of ONE of these in Kiwiland in our deep South [sitting in a barn?],
but I think its been sold overseas...still, I dont know for sure????....I
