Subject: El Mirage 4/21
We had rain pass thru here last night, Looking out east from my home I can
see puddles of standing water. We have had high winds almost all this week &
any standing water will be gone soon. The race area looks to be dry. We have
a ton of weekenders out there already so far no body is on the lake surface
TOO COLD. The wind chill factor has to be in the high 30's. Just talked to
Gina our BLM Ranger & the east end is really WET. She & Brain (our other
Ranger) are going around to the campers asking them to say out of the wet
spots. In nearly a year that Brain has been out here (weekends only) he has
written 154 tickets & most of them have been for drug (marijuana) possession.
The BLM is putting TEETH in to the NO GLASS CONTAINERS & will be out to
enforce it, ticketing people. Gina has filled out the request paper work to
not allow fire wood with "metal" inbedded in it(pallets & any used wood with
nails) This request is now going thru the proper channels getting all the
officaial signatures. These are 2 "rules" are really good for SCTA. It will
take years to get rid of the present broken glass & nails. I can't emphasis
enough the importance to everyone within the SCTA Family "if you see a nail
or glass anywhere on the lake surface to PICK IT UP!!!" THE MAYOR
