List,
Sunday at El Mirage was a beautiful day with lots of racing, a loose
track, a good smattering of new cars.
Pitted next to "Avanti Dave" Boomberg with the Barbee Boys on the other
side back at El Mirage with a new '27 B/STR.
Winds were calm but the track was reported to be very loose, more so at
the 3/4 point, keeping the numbers low all the way around, a few records
were set, and there was an exceptional tribute for Tom Eiden thanking
him for his life's work in Land Speed Racing.
#300 D/STR only got one run in at 139 MPH, We were at the Line for a
second run, Ed strapped in, motor running, Were in the push truck,
Starter holds us!!!!!!! The Emergency Crew had just left responding to
an accident just off the Lake bed...... Racing ended for the day....

Revising the check list for June 10th now ( 8 FRESH AA batteries for CB
Radio).
