Hi all,
     Lots of fun today. Had to face .100 off the front of the cam, the stack
up of parts for the gear drive wasn't correct. Made a washer to space the
crank gear forward to line up with the cam gear. Fontana said it wasn't
necessary but as long as I'm doing it I might as well do it right. I made a
pointer for the big degree wheel, mounted it and put in number one piston
assy. Checked TDC and degreed in the cam. This gear drive is neat, I got all
the numbers to match the cam tag within one half a degree. Put on the head
with clay on the piston top and turned it over to check piston to valve
clearance, all is well. Pulled the number one piston out, put on the front
cover, set the timing pointer and marked TDC on the crank hub. I cant wait
to get back out there tomorrow. You guys were right installing spiral locks
is a snap but I can see there will be plenty of opportunities to cause my
circulatory system to leak trying to get them out. Someone asked me about
double spiral locks. I misplaced the post so please ask again so I can ask
you why?
     That's the subject for tonight;
Compare and contrast the pros and cons of double versus single siralocking.
