Jon : Try mounting some magnifying glasses ( they come with
different focal lengths ) on some home brewed brackets you make up,
above the gauges ...... and / or locate the gauges as high as possible
to your line of sight on the horizon . A little experimentation here should
go a long way towards your reaching your retirement years .......
We have one guy on this list who looks into a PRISM while running
the Salt and the lakes . It' s the only way he can see anything
but sky and clouds when he's belted in !!!

who used to use a prism mounted at the inside base of the windshield
to be able to see that traffic light turn green, while appearing totally
disinterested in that light to the guy in the other lane
...... it worked so very well !!!
