SB2 Cylinder heads

My question is simply Are the 18 degree
and/or the SB2 heads on a sbc "legal" in production
catagory? It seems to me that it all hinges on the
term configuration as in "port configuration"

Glen & list,

If the SB2 heads have the splay exhaust ports, not the standard sm block head
configuration with center exhaust ports together, they would not be allowed in
Production classes as indicated on page 60, 1st paragraph, last sentence, 2001
rulebook. This sentence refers to "orginal number of valves and port
configuration".

If the SB2 head uses the standard sm block exhaust port configuration then it
would be allowed. 18 deg. heads with the standard exhaust port configuration
are allowed.
