List,

This is an email I received asking about a SCTA event held in the late 60s. I
was still in the service and did not attend the meet. Anyone have any info for
this guy?

Pretty cool pics on his website.

I'm looking for some info.

The SCTA ran a meet at Laguna Salada, Baja California, Mexico sometime
in early 1967. It was a two day (sat and sun)meet. I want to find out
the exact dates and if possible the results. Also any "war stories" from
people who ran there or officials.

I need the info for a magazine article that I am trying to get
published.

There was an a mention of the up coming meet in the Jan 1966 issue of
"Hot Rod Magazine" in Bob Greene's Up on Two Wheels column. There is a
picture of Jim Lindsley, Mark Dees, Bill Smith, Emil Grosotti(sp?) and
others, plus me (blck cowboy hat) standing around my '64 El Camino on
the lake bed. The lake bed was 28 miles long, but was soft.

I have some pictures of saturdays action on my web site

Go to the menu "pictures by c.d." there will drop-down menu with SCTA at
the bottom and another menu that starts with "SCTA at Laguna Salada"
then click on it.

Poeple that are in the pictures include Bob Higbee leaning on Bruce
Gieslers Stude, Phil Freudiger (in his mod roadster)and Howie Johnson's
lakester.

Hope you can help me.

TIA
