Not only do they go 200+, it was a firebird that became the first
doorslammer over 300 (Jerry Kugel @ Bonneville).
They appear to be a very good choice for land speed racing.

I have a chance to buy a 1992 Pontiac firebird. Now looking at the record
book
it does not list the type of car or year for a record. so I have no idea if
this car has the possibity of going 200 without a 1000hp engine etc. I have
seen some firebirds and camaros at the races so they go, but over 200?
