I used to live about a mile from AK's old shop on Whittier Blvd..
One thing that stuck in my memory was was the carb setup. The carbs
available at that time
were sensitive to side and fore and aft forces. They would go lean or
rich in a hard turn
depending on where the float bowl was. Ak put two 97's on each flange of
a four barrel
manifold - machined to fit back to back. That way when one 97 leaned
out, it's partner
richened up. Also the Olds with a Zephyr box that had a Nash overdrive
attached feeding the
Lincoln rear end was an unusual combo. Streamlining was accomplished by
driving it as fast as
it would go and anything that blew off , he left off. (at least that's
what he said)
