Dan,

Whatever you do, don't put treaded tires on the rear of the Hi Boy - I hear
you'll just spin around and around!!! You know - skinny tires with a 2 sq in
contact patch will work better for some unknown reason...

Or better yet, put a Pirelli on one side and a frontrunner on the other and
see which way she turns.. LOL

Have a great time - sounds wonderful.

Jim Webb

ps. Be careful in your garage reclamation project - that's touchy ground.

Subject: Mod Sports question

Do the doors have to open and close? Can they be welded closed? And the
seams filled?
******************************

The rulebook does not specifically address this question. The doors on the
Alfa, Ron Benham and Bonner Denton's Berkleys are all welded. The Alfa had
door seams recreated because it looks better.

If using a Corvette exchange the torch for your wife's glue gun. If you make
the top flip up as your only entry and exit what happens when you are in the
attitude where the top will have to flip down to exit the vehicle?

As an aside I settled on my street roadster yesterday. I want to thank
everyone who offered advice and links to possible vehicles. I settled on a
real quality '29, '32 rails, '32 grille. Black, fenderless Hi Boy with red
steelies. Chev 283, 4 speed. Needs upolstery and pin stripes. Built in the
late 50s, early 60s style of a traditional hot rod. I now have to get all
Joanie's projects out of the garage so I bring 'er home.
