list

It is amazing the amount of knowledge and wisdom this list has and it
constantly astounds me the many and diverse means to an end it produces from
the university of hard knocks to the PHD so I thought I would add some of my
modest ramblings
1. Daves holistic approach is excellent it is very wise to expend a good
deal of time at the planning stage in putting together your project
especially from a financial point of view as changes cost only time not hard
cash ( very good to us that are financially challenged )
2. unless you are fortunate in the extreme having unlimited cash, time,
resources and knowledge every thing you build will be a compromise of some
sort the extent of that compromise will depend on the lack of capacities you
have from the above listed
3. All things being equal aerodynamics is the most important aspect in our
sport ,alright alright I spose if you are limited in aerodynamic mods brute
HP and traction are more important ( horses for courses)but remember the
cost of HP is exponential to the results where as aerodynamics is linear
that's my opinion anyway
4. It is my experience that above all else the most important ingredient in
LSR or anything for that matter is passion and healthy amounts of fun if
these are missing or lost what ever you do is a lost cause ,sometimes if
things are going from bad to worse stand back for a while wait till things
cool off then start again and always seek help for solutions that escape
you.
Well I am always interested in anything that increases my knowledge and I
especially enjoy the dicussions in aerodynamics
Gary
