The header expert (headers by Ed in Minnesota) I talked to said not to mig
the pipe joints, it can leave dingle berrys on the inside where you cant
grind them off, gas or tig is better. He also said to weld the flange to
pipe joint on the inside of the flange, grind flange flat, sand inside
smooth and fillet braze the outside of the joint. He says he gets less
cracking that way.
