Tires

I am new to LSR and am building a flathead powered '31 Ford roadster to
run Street Roadster class at Bonneville. You know the story; old fart
recapturing youth, always wanted to do this,  etc.

Here is my question. What tires do I want to use on salt other than very
expensive Mickey T's? Do I want an asymetrical tread? Open tread? Closed
tread?
