Are all record
runs made in the opposite direction now?

Since the advent of the Save the Salt program we are now able to revert to
the old two way runs to set a record system This is something we have wanted
for many years but were not able to accomplish until recently.
Let's not belabor the real old three runs for a record methology - I don't
see us returning to that currently. For those unfamiliar with that deal, it
was qualify over the record by .0001 mph. Then return the next day for two
runs in opposite directions to set the record. The advent of the two course
system help to aleviate the number of people setting records and the time
required. In the recent past the number of qualifiers, 40 -70 on some days,
does not allow us the time required to run two passes each on a given day to
set a record. Qualifying cannot resume until all record attempts are
completed.
