Wheel wells

i am building a altered and i have lined the wheel wells with
aluminum around the radius of the tire to keep the salt out of the body.
the rule book says (wheel wells may not be filled or covered) am i
correct in asuming filled refures to filling the indentation  in the
body at the rear wheels

I've forwarded your question to Bobby Sykes, chairman of the Coupe & sedan
Committee. Covering of the wheel wells refers to what is commonly known as
fender skirts. The skirts are allowed in specific classes only. Filling of the
wheel wells refers to a recontouring of the inside of the wheel well to aid
air flow. I believe that the use of alum around the tire circumference to keep
salt off the inside of the fenders is OK.

Lets see what Bobby says.
