Ten UK CLass A record breaking speeds set by the 27 litre Thunderbolt
Bentley at Brooklands but at the cost of a delaminating tread on a rear
tyre after about 120 miles of running.

The best was the 5 kilo flying start UK CLass A record at 143.454 mph and
the slowest after a pit stop was the 200 kilometre from a standing start at
124.194 mph. The hour record speed was 124.250 mph. Set between 05.57 and
07.00 local time.

Now the team needs a larger diameter track to limit the turning stresses
and a tyre that can last 4 hours at 180 mph (and is 36+ inches tall!) -
then the team will attack the Ab Jenkins speed for 24 hours.
