Deb ..... our thoughts and prayers are with You and Todd ......
My wife of almost 38 years, Mary Ann, woke up feeling terrible on Wednesday
morning, July 16th, and, instead of the local clinic she suggested, I took
her to
the ER at our local hospital ..... many of my close friends here on this list
already know that after a series of quick tests she was sent to a hospital in
Hartford, Connecticut where she underwent a quadruple by pass, as she had
95% blockage in at least one artery and the heart surgeon told me that he
doubted she would have lived another 24 hours, and he is writing a report on
her for a medical journal, as he couldn't believe she could even function at
all .
Thankfully, all went well, and I brought her home on July 25th ........
she walks every day to strengthen her heart, and her diet is now a much
more sensible one from a standpoint of being good to her heart .......
and mine, too ! She is doing very well and now realizes what a close
call she had ...... We know exactly the stress you are undergoing, and,
believe me when I say many of the folks on this list that knew of this were
very, very kind and supportive of us with cards and prayers and words of
encouragement recently. We are hoping that the doctor will okay her
going on a flight to the San Francisco Bay area soon ..... our annual visit
to see youngest son Darrell, who has high hopes of returning to the Salt in
2004 to run 275 or better...... he is gathering all the new engine goodies
now to replace the Merlin block he grenaded on his first run in 2001, at the
three mile mark. He is definitely bringing more horsepower next year ......
Now you help Todd get all healed up there and back in the saddle of
that fast two-wheeler he pilots, ya hear ??? Good luck to you both, and
possibly we'll see you at Maxton this season !
Bruce and Mary Ann Ferguson, that pretty girl I spotted in the pits at
Connecticut Dragway way back in 1962 . Thanks again to all my many
friends & aquaintances, those we've met and those we haven't ( yet ), for
your thoughts & prayers .
