List;

Joline and I got back home last night from Salt Lake City tired, a little
sunburned, and very psyched up about our being at Bonneville for the first
time ever. It was an incredible experience-- even better than I had
imagined.

All the SCTA and BNI people deserve alot of credit for running a first-class
event. Their hard work is appreciated by everyone. It was a treat to be at
such a big event where everything ran smoothly without being overly
regimented.

To everyone who we had a chance to meet in person-- thanks for being so
friendly and making us feel "at home" there on the Salt. Finally meeting you
helps put a face onto the names I've seen here on the LSR list for the past
year. A special thanks to those good folks who set up the Salt Talks. The
food and drinks were great but the good company topped everything.

As I told everyone, salt racing is like racing "used to be" back in the old
days-- racers just getting together to have fun. I can't think of any other
form of racing that hasn't changed for the worse; I hope LSR remains a sport
that can be fun for everyone.

I guess Keith backed up his run and got his Red Hat...congratulations! I
hope others had good, safe runs, too.

Rex Svoboda let me take a good look at his beautiful blue McLaren M6B, one
of the few mid-engine cars that were entered. I appreciate his being so
helpful.

Mayf, I looked for you to see if I could help out with your Cf experiment
but we missed each other. After having a good look at the salt surface I
think I have a few more ideas (oh, no!) about what happens at the tire/salt
contact patch. More on that later.

Thanks again to everyone who was at Speedweek. To those who have never
visited the Bonneville Salt Flats before-- do it!
