Dick;

I know nothing whatsoever about a hemi but... doesn't the thermostat
help generate higher pressure in the block & heads? I'd leave it in
place.

I just scoured the archives and couldn't really find the answer that I'm
looking for. I just installed my new water pump and water crossover
manifold between the heads (early hemi). The thermostat housing is made
with a restrictor in place, i.e., the water passage is only about 1.5".
I've decided to go with a traditional radiator rather than a tank. Do
I need a thermostat for Bonneville and Maxton.
