This also happened to an F-15 in the early 80's, only it was an Israeali
job.  Same basic thing happened, mid-air collision, the other plane, an
A-4
Skyhawk crashed.  Basically, he had no wing, a lot more was missing on
this
thing then the F-18.  Landed safely, pretty neat story actually,
