Hey Keith, where are you when we've got choppers overhead testing?
It's interesting, thought I'd share this as a way of letting all of you
know we really are 'way up north. You're all having spring -- we're
still doing winter testing.

Two helicopters and a plane are flying around overhead as I write. A
couple of companies are trying to get the contract to build a new
'copter for military/Presidential use, and they're spending a few weeks
up here testing de-icing strategies. The aircraft under test is
following right behind one of those big ones with two overhead fans,
which is towing a rig that sprays water - which turns to ice just in
time for the 'copter under test to get the brunt of it. The chase
plane follows behind and to the side to watch and (I presume) video the
whole show.

This pass was at a couple of thousand feet -- yesterday they went by at
about 500 feet. Back and forth, over and beyond -- at least our county
airport is making $10k/week renting space to all of 'em.

(stuck at 199.6" of snow for the season- might as well get some
flurries tonight to break the 200 mark)
