Thanks John.

The thought has been rattling around in my head -- how could you have
"spots" ,  in a homogeneous alloy??? If it was completely homogeneous,
wouldn't one area behave just like any other area??
Note: I know nothing about foundry processes.

I wish I had more answers than questions,
