Phil,
    Why???????????? Are you deep into pain???????????? As you prolly know 
they have no advance mechanism. Luckily the Flatty will only need 25 degrees or 
so total advance, making starting one with the 6v starter on 12v possible 
provided the engine doesn't " kick" and bend the unsupported bendix end of the 
armature.
    Savage Magneto in Hayward, CA (510)782-7081 has rebuilt them for some of 
the nostalgia guys. I don't believe that there are any parts around for them.
    A Vertex converted to fit into a 49-53 8-BA front cover will work much 
better...........Ardun Doug
